Trauma Counselling
Our Psychologists have significant high-level expertise in trauma management and interventions from critical incident debriefs to trauma-focussed therapy. Traumatic incidents can impact people in a variety of ways and early intervention minimises the longer-term negative impact of such trauma in people's personal and work lives.
Our Psychologists have worked in acute mental health settings, community, public sector and with emergency services and armed forces in providing trauma education, resilience training programs, critical incident stress management and trauma therapy.
We utilise a cognitive-behavioural approach, including evidence-based exposure therapy techniques to assist clients who may experience Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. We also can assist with Psychological First Aid training for organisations directed at employees and managers who can provide basic support following a critical incident or traumatic event.
